Day 56: Abby wears her fancy pants
So I’ve mentioned at times that Abby has a pair of cranky pants…well several pairs really. But yesterday she must have had her fancy pants on…and of course they are pink-go figure…b/c she did the most unbelievable thing. She rolled back to belly!
I’ve been putting her on her belly a lot more lately b/c I read that the 4 month marker is for her to start to roll belly to back…and back to belly is the 5th month marker. But at 3 months 3 weeks old, Abby skipped a whole step. And I totally thought it was a fluke, just like how she got to her side once, and took weeks to do it consistently. But nope. All day yesterday I would put her on her back and she would flip over. And because she is doing this step so soon and doesn’t have a handle on where her arms are supposed to go, she slipped back into her cranky pants until I helped her out and moved her left arm. (And it’s always the left arm b/c apparently she once again favors the left {re: thumb sucking} and goes in that direction for this feat.)
And of course I was able to capture it on video, b/c like I said, she was doing it over and over again. So some disclaimers on the video before you see it:
Disclaimer #1: I have a high pitched mommy voice. Hope it isn’t too much for you.
Disclaimer #2: Whilst in the midst of her fancy pants efforts to flip over, her cranky pants side came out b/c rolling from back to belly at 3 months 3 weeks is tough. She has a whiny cry, but you will notice the cranky pants come off at the end when she completes the endeavor.
Disclaimer #3: The video isn’t the best quality. I’m using the video option on a digital camera. Wish I had one of those flip camera things.

I am SO MAD that DH turned the sound off on here. I can’t figure out how to get it back on. I really would love to hear her. But watching is cute too. She’s so strong!
@Diana…I kind of felt bad letting her whimper like that…but it’s all in the adventures of figuring something new out.

My daughter did the same thing. She rolled back to belly at 3 months. She never liked tummy time, so when she’d roll onto her belly, she’d get pissed. LOL
I miss how little she was. Your little girl is so precious.
