Day 118: Abby Sits!
(Before I get to today’s post, the answer to my wordless Wednesday contest is…27! As a teacher you get your picture taken for the yearbook. I thought it was pretty funny when I realized that I would still get a school picture at this age. It was my first year of teaching…so I was almost 28. The following year I got mistaken for a student during a college fair. I was asked, “What grade are you in?” I guess it makes being 30 not so bad, though b/c of my short stature in addition to how young I look, students often can’t find me when they walk into a classroom if I’m not standing up front teaching.)
So if you saw this post, you know that Abby is sitting now…well mostly as this is a new skill and she still falls….or she forgets that she knows how to do this.
Either way, when I got to play hooky to take care of her last Tuesday, we did some sitting practice on the bed and I caught it on video. (Nope, this wasn’t taken with the Flip video camera I won in a bet from my husband b/c after further conversation, we decided we shouldn’t be spending money on big things since it will be a couple months till I get a full paycheck…so it’s not the best quality.)

Haha – I tell my kids that being short and blending in with the student population is my secret weapon. They never know where I am or what I hear!
umm – picture = hilarious. we do that where i teach too – but each year a few of us try to do a “formal shot” together – so we end up looking like some crazy family…love it
