Day 177: It's Official. I am made of sugar.
People have joked with me in the past, that if something has sugar in it, I’ll eat it…well as long as it doesn’t have any other icky things in there that I don’t like. I mean the office ladies figured out I was pregnant before I even told them b/c I stopped eating the chocolate they harbor in their desk drawers. They know of this sugar addiction and knew something was up when I wasn’t taking in as much as I usually have. (There of course were other signs, but they told me that this one was part of them starting to suspect I was with child.)
So when I got this Sugar Doll award from Cole’s First Blog, I knew that it was official. I am made of sugar. I met Cole via his mommy who ran a super rad Blog Hope where we all posted our wedding stories. His mommy also helped me develop something for a super sneaky thing I have up my sleeve, and will be talking about in a month or so. So when I saw that Cole gave me this award, I knew his mommy must have whispered in his ear that I was super sweet.
And with all awards, there are things to be done…so here it is:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award. DONE!
2. Share 10 things about yourself.
3. Pass this award on to 10 bloggers who you’ve recently discovered and think rock!
Ok, so my 10 things…hmmm…I will try to think of 10 new things as I’ve done these 10 things thing before…
1. At the age of 30, I still write things on my hand to remind myself to do things.
2. I’m the proud owner of Jury Duty this summer. In fact, the city I live in has me on call for the entire month of July. So yeah, every Thursday I get to call to see if I’m needed on Friday. Fun Times!
3. The first time, and only other time I was summoned for jury duty, was just a few months after I turned 18. So yeah, I got excused from high school to serve jury duty. And my cynical teenage self managed to not get picked to serve on a jury. Go figure.
4. My car is a mess.
5. I still have clothes in my drawer from when I was in high school.
6. I used to be a mall rat, until I got a job at the mall, and then security couldn’t kick me out.
7. I smoked cigarettes for 7 years on and off. I’ve been off the nicotine sticks for 6 years.
8. When I moved to Seattle, I did what every good PNW individual does…I got a job working as a barista, where I became a coffee snob and learned to drink coffee black.
9. As a child, I never wanted to be a teacher. Funny how things work out. And to be honest, I have no clue what I dreamed of being, until high school when I was dead set on journalist.
10. I’m a pre-calculus drop out. I was always so good at math, even taking Algebra in 8th grade. Well, by the time I was a junior, I was in pre-cal and had the most awful teacher. He lectured. I took notes. He told us to do work. Pre-cal is some hard shit, and he couldn’t explain it in a way to make my brain understand. I tried to get out of the class but b/c I had a C, I couldn’t. They told me if I did any worse, than I could. So yeah, I sabotaged myself, got a D, and they gladly let me out. From that point on, math became a phobia for me.
And now on to 10 bloggers who’ve I’ve recently found and who I think rock…well I’ve been a busy working momma, so I don’t know if I’ve found 10 new ones, but I’ll just list what I have. Oh and a disclaimer…some of the blogs I list below are ones that I’ve known about for a while, but recently got into reading them more.
1. Last Train to Pooksville
2. O My Family
3. Chill Mama Chill
4. Waking Up Williams
5. Life, Love, Stress & Setbacks

I’m 25, grown up (maybe), married & have a kid of my own…but I wrote something I needed to remember on my hand a few days ago too! Then it wore off and I forgot – but you just made me remember it. Thanks!
Thanks for the sugar love!!! Jp might disagree with you and tell me I’m made of some spice and occasionally piss and vinegar. Hahaha!! And I never wanted to be a teacher either, but some how in high school that seemed to fit me to a tee…..and now well I’m a mommy and not a teacher and love it!
Thank YOu !!!
I too write things on my hands.
Also, I will come to you with math questions once MJ is in school. BASIC, basic math is as good as I can get.
