Day 179: Finally…Some more Sunshine and a Kiddie Pool Too!
Last Thursday, on my drive home from work, I decided it was time to buy the kiddie pool. We had two straight days of sunshine and I actually broke a sweat. So once I picked Abby up from daycare, we made our usual stop at Target, purchased said pool, and raced home to try it out.
Let me just tell you that I was still sick, but I was so determined to try the pool out since the sun seems to be fleeting fast and furious this June. It was not the easiest to get the pool inflated, amidst hacking coughs, but alas I did it. I went to get hose out to fill the tub and realized the spigot was still sealed up and protected from our winter frost. So what does any determined momma do? I brought the bumbo chair outside, plopped Abby in it, all so I could use two hands to get the hose situation figured out.
Once the pool was filled with water, I realized it was way too cold. So I ran in the house, filled up the flowering can with hot tap water, and poured it in. Then I ran back into the house, got two towels, camera, bathtub toys, and hat. Oh yeah, and did I mention that I managed most of this while carrying Abigail b/c the hubs was not home, but dammit, we were going to try that pool out!
When I first put her in, she freaked. I guess sitting her down all the way was not the best idea I’ve ever had. So instead, I let her stand in there for a bit, with bathtub toys in hand in mouth to pacify her whilst she got used to the water. And finally, she was down for chill out time in the pool. And you know I took copious amounts of pictures. Here are a few of my favorites…but warning…serious warning…they are so stinking cute.
